Raven, sadly I agree, but for different reasons. I am a follower of Christ
but the problem I have with the Pope and its system is that the title they use is: Vicarius Felii Dei which means basically Christ on earth. That is blasphemy. They also claim to have the power to forgive sins through the confessional. Again, blasphemy. They claim to be able to change God's law and tried to do so by saying the Sabbath is not Saturday, as it says in the actual 10 Commandments but rather Sunday. Blasphemy.
I cannot support a system that killed thousands of people during the Dark Ages in the name of Jesus. I love the Catholic people for my family is mostly Catholic, but I left it because the system is in error...pure deception. It contradicts the truth of the Bible and of love. Interesting to note that the the number of the name: Vicarius Felii Dei adds up to 666.

You are mistaken.
The doctrines are not repressive and they do not overshadow Christ's teachings. They
are Christ's teachings! He founded the Church. Admittedly, over the years the Church has been infiltrated high and low by people (I will not name the groups) who have pretended to be good Catholics but who really are there to do all they can to destroy it from the inside. The devil wants to have his way and is working through these very people but God says the Church will not be destroyed. If you are interested in really learning about the Catholic Church before making the kind of judgemental blogs this one is, there are any number of books in libraries, and websites that you can click on including www.Catholic.org.
