Its a good idea to be prepared. If this is traumatic for you to talk to her, maybe you can ask your Mum to enquire about the reason behind her call.

I don't bother making an effort with my family members that have pissed me off, which is pretty much all of them. Saves a fortune at Christmas and on birthdays...

I lost my younger sister to death a good few years ago..so you would think I should talk to my older sister...but she is a real pain in the ass...and as horrible as it sounds to say...life had been pretty good without her....ok...shutting up now...drink has gone to my head!!

I have heard of family squabbles that last a life time. Its not worth it. She is your flesh and blood. This is your chance to vent and hers as well. It may even bring you closer by cleaning out your closets. As for those English terms, I love them! I want to know more. I am from English descent and curious about these things. I love the apples and pears one.
