Right you are, scoop.
And it's good to know that some take the time to do background checks on potential scout leaders, no matter their level of contact with the scouts. But it needs to be changed to
all of them. Help me out, scoop. Do you know whether or not mandatory background checks are the norm today?

Saul, this is no surprise to me. I was in scouting with my kids and I was
a District Commissioner over seeing a few troops. Being a cop at the time I did background checks on some leaders. They stood out like SORE thumbs.
I am not talking about parents being leaders but we would get guys applying that had NO kids in scouting and they lived miles away from the troops and packs they wanted to be associated with. Some were clean but were rejected and some had records.
We did have some though that had kids in scouts and would molest other boys on trips the sorry assholes.
