- Go to He Doesn't Love Her
I totally agree with MayB's comment.
Also, just as I stated in one of my recent blogs about this, do you or did you have a living will or anything in writing when you were 26 years old?
Whichever way you would want to have your or your spouse's personal situation handled, how would you like someone in government, perfect stranger, to over rule your wishes and rights? One more point: Mr. Schivo has been offered millions upon millions of dollars to give up rights to Terri's decision making rights. He has and continues to flat out refuse any money. He also has known that his wife's condition would never improve and will only continue to get worse...which is HAS. So sue the guy that now has a significant other after many years of his wife's soul and spirit being permanently absent from this world for OVER 16 years. If there is no genuine love and devotion for this woman by her husband refusing to throw in the towel and DISHONOR Terri's wishes, then I don't know what else there is. If he was all about himself and his new companion, he'd be a friggin millionaire and would have certainly walked away well over a decade ago.

Who is to say if he ever loved her? None of us can judge that about another particularly if we have never met them. At this point that is not really relevent. I actually wonder what people would have said about him had he walked away at any stage. I think that he and her family have found themselves in an extraordinary situation and because they are only humans are incapable of getting it right all of the time. I don't know what could prepare anyone for that situation. There is no dress rehearsal
