Fact or fiction,
I think depression comes in a spiral. At first it is painful but you can deal with it. Eventually it becomes overwhelming. It is especially hard when you have to care for a baby at the same time. My postpartum deprssions were when my children were three. I'm not quite sure why the delay.

darke thoughts,
You have learned how to care for yourself during a depression. It took me several years to do that. Once you do, then it doesn't have to be so bad.

When I had Post Partum Depression,
the more isolated I became, the more depressed I became, until I was seriously depressed.

Depression is hard to cope with.  I like to be alone and usually manage to work things out on my own just fine.  That self-talk is one of the things that hurts though.  When I am depressed I tell myself I am depressed for now, but things will be better in a few days.  I think the worst thing is when you start telling yourself things will never change...that just leads to more depression.
