Her husband has given all control of what happens to her over to the court system. As her husband he had full rights being her next of kin. By getting the courts involved he has given up his rights in that.

What has he "given" over to the court system? It was family probate court because she had no will. It remained in court because Terri's parent's contend that the court appointed guardian, i.e. Michael was not acting in Terri's interests.

Yes,scoop, common sense trumps emotion. But common sense with an acid tongue beats everything. Do I make you nervous, baby?

Then why has he given all of the control over to the court system? If he has anything to hide he would keep all the control himself. Looking a the records the only people who are claiming there was any kind of progress are her parents who are making it very clear that they are living in pure denial. Also even if she were to by some miracle have improvement, since most of her brain is dead cells right now, she has no memory. dead cells are not going to retain anything at all. If her husband did anything to her he has nothing at all to worry about. He would have had much more to worry back when this all first happened and he was helping her at that point. Also, he was living with her family at the time this all happened, so I would figure that unless they really are clueless, they would have noticed any abuse taking place in their own house. You are not going to be able to hide such things from the people you are living with, unless those people are really, really stupid or really, really naive. It really is a very poorly thought out augment on your side of things. He is not at all acting like someone who has anything to hide. Her parents come off much like as they are after something beyond just what they are claiming to be after.

A sharp tongue does not mean you have a keen mind. Common sense trumps emotion everytime.

AND....
Terri's parents could not look at her medical records for 12 years because Michael barred them from doing so. When? After her experimental therapy, WHICH her parents and nurses claimed was improving her. After that Michael stopped the treatment, ordered that the TV be moved out of her room, and restricted her parent's visitation. Sounds like a guilty mofo to me-not a loving husband.

kooka, you're all wet here
Janes' right, you do keep contradicting yourself.

Schiavo has a lot to lose if he has abused her and she speaks again. He has much to gain when she dies by a wrongful death suit.

Hey kooka and scoop! Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make their arguments based on emotion only. Your intellectual vanity and arrogance are showing!

Janes
As full of it as ever I see.
I am going off of the claim that many of you believers are making that she somehow has awareness there. If you believe she does, then what she is going through is torture. Maybe I need to go back and edited that so that those who are unable to figure out such a simple idea will not be as confused as you are.
I believe she is not there. But given the chance that she is there, it is best to end the torture. if I were to believe there was some form of her still there looking out at the world I would most likely break down n tears for the horrible acts her parents have forced on her. Luckily my mind will not allow for me to believe that. It is already troubling me to think about such inhumane and disgusting possibilities. I have to look at it all in the positive and think that she has gone on, and not suffered all these years.
Once more you present no facts and are only trying to discredit me.
You really do like dancing.

The Blogit god contradicting himself?
Whoa!  First you say she has a head full of dead brain cells, and has no sensation or awareness, then you state in virtually the next sentence that she's going through such inhumane torture.  And then in your last paragraph you wish for her to escape her torture.  So. . . what will it be?  And here you accuse those who disagree with you of not being logical.  Hmmmmm.

I too get caught up in the desire for a miracle sometimes. But rationally
I know there is nothing that can be done.  I also think her hubby has nothing to hide.  Why would he have fought this long if he did?  Most people would have walked away by now, but he didn't.  And her parents...Well, let's just say that I can understand their pain--but they need to let go.

Problem is Kooka people don't want logic
they want miracles, maybe because it is Holy Week who knows? They think with their heart and not their head. My wife and I have discussed this and we are going to make out Living Wills, because I don't want to live like Terri and either does my wife. I want to rest in peace and so does she. I think it shows more love to let someone go then to show selfishness of keeping them alive in the condition of someone like Terri.
