Exactly, Dennis! It's just like I said to JJ,
it's like having some sort of "vacation fever" or in this case, "movie theater fever." It's like a different dimension where the norm is completely different from regular life!

...Fire
I have to say, you have brought up some very good points here! Many of these are things I have wondered myself, as I witness myself do them. I've always chalked it up to the novelty. Stuffing your face full of crap at the movies that you normally wouldn't do otherwise is like a way to "signify" you are at the movies; it's something you only do there. And, because you only do it there, then, in a twisted way, it becomes kind of special. It's your permission slip to do such a thing.

Scriber, it's kinda scary sometimes, though, isn't it?!
Hope you had a great birthday!

I know, JJ. But doesn't it seem as if money is "no object" when on
vacation? I mean, we bring spending money with us, but when we see something kewl, we just buy it as if it's Monopoly money. At home, we're more practical and wise, thinking, nah, I really don't need to spend that much on this. I really don't want it that bad. It's like having "vacation fever."
Oh, and I'm not allowed around sharp objects without supervision anymore, remember? You and Mark made that rule a long time ago. I guess you'll just have to have you open all of them for me.

Ca88, you cough cause you're supposed to chew the popcorn,
not inhale it.

Funny observations on human behavior. I click on blogs that seem to
indicate I can find out who I really am, or anyone really is. That is so strange.

Popcorn at the movies makes me puke! Or maybe it was the new contacts and sitting too close to the front row? Either way, I've never been able to eat popcorn since.

my dear girl,
Ya open the CD with a pocket knife. Don't cut you seff.
People are, by their very nature, imitative. That's how society got put together by idiots, and that's how it still runs, in spite of rampant idiocy. If people saw the foolishness in buying crap while vacationing just to conform to social norms that say ''do this on vacation to be normal,'' entire sections of the economy would collapse. What does that say about Man? He is as dumb as a fencepost, but oddly, that saves him from disaster.
Thank you for the podium from which to lecture......

I can so relate to the CDs - it takes me ages to unwrap a new one! As for childproof lids - the only people that can open them are children! I must be abnormal, but if I do go to the movies, I hardly ever eat popcorn. It just makes me cough...

Quirk, you never heard of Snow Caps? They are those
little chocolate candy things with little specs of white whatever's on the top. I suppose they look like itty bitty snow covered mountains a little smaller than a dime. They're good, but I've never bought them except in a movie theater.
