ukie, Temple, thank you for your support and active participation on Blogit.
Temple, yes, the distribution lists do show every time you click on someone's blog and view a page of their writing, thereby giving them money. Fifty percent of each member’s Blogit Basic subscription amount is divided amongst the writers they read each month.
We have worked hard to develop very sophisticated systems and algorithms to calculate and confirm the accuracy of your earnings and the information we provide to you each day and each month. If you feel that someone is not showing up on the list or someone is showing up more often than they should, please let us know so we can look into it.
Please note that a page can include one or more posts depending on how a writer has set up their display options and/or how you reach that page. If the URL is different from the previous page or post you were reading, then that is considered a new page view and counted on your Writer Payment Distribution list.
Please also note that the page counter shows the total number of views a blog has received since page counters were added, while distribution lists show how often the member has read different blogs in their current monthly cycle, so they won't match.
We're just here to answer your questions. There is already enough personality amongst Blogit members!
Thank you.

I like Blogit and Blogit likes me!
They'v always been honest and professional, as well as understanding if I made any mistakes. I've recieved checks shortly after requesting them and to top it off, I have been noithing but encouraged and love by the blogit staff and community. Who ever this dude is that's wasting everybody's time by complaing and whining, should just blog if it feels good. If it's right ya know it. As Chuck Mangioni played...feels so good....

Dang
Why does he gotta bring an attorney in like that and be threatening before he even gets an answer? See? That's why no one loves us. It's a damn shame, I tell ya. Lots of stuff here makes no sense, Brian. That's why we get frustrated. Someone will read another person and it won't show up on the distrubution list....or it will show some ungodly amount of pages when it should be like 4 pages (instead of like 56). We don't get how the clicks work, or the money distribution works, or how writers are paid. Please don't link me somewhere, I've read it all, we all have. The thing is, it just doesn't make sense. Do the distribution lists show every time you click on someone's blog, thereby giving them money? Because we didn't think that's how it should work? And then these page counters don't reflect what distribution lists show as people post them. It's a bit over my head, admitedly, and I'm not going to call my lawyer....but that's why we get frustrated, see? And lately, your responses are so impersonal. I know you have to be personal and businesslike, but c'mon guy, it's still us and you have a personality. We've actually seen it before, so don't lie! It's more fun that way. :)

We very much value each one of Blogit’s customers and are trying our best to address requests for improvements in the Blogit service while also growing the number of subscribers.
We hope that Blogit members realize that our success depends on each Blogit member succeeding, and that together we can continue to grow both the number of active Blogit users as well as the total earnings for writers.
Since we first launched, Blogit continues to be the only venue of its kind that pays bloggers on the Web and we’re proud to be associated with this incredibly vibrant and unique Blogit community.
Thank you.

Dear Brianm
I appreciate very much your keeping so cool while answering to so accusing subscribers, most of the times with an arguement in their sleeve. How do you succeed? Seems I need to do that myself. Congratulations, and plz share this secret with me.

Although we cannot view your Write page directly, we have checked your account, and it looks like you are viewing an old version of the Write page. Please try refreshing the page. For example, in Internet Explorer, go to View and choose Refresh.
If that resolves the issue, please check your browser settings. For example, in Internet Explorer, go to Tools and choose Internet Options. Under the General tab, click the Settings button and confirm that "Check for newer versions of stored pages" is set to "Automatically".
We're happy to reveal as much information as we can, and we certainly do our best to meet customer needs. For example, the "page views" feature was a frequent customer request, and that's why it was added.
However, Blogit is like any other business, in that potential competitors would like overall information such as the exact number of subscribers, so we are currently not publishing such information. If anyone knows of a law that requires us to publish that information, we would appreciate them pointing us to the law.
Thank you.

And By The Way
I have discussed this unrelated issue with other writers and they've all told me that Blogit.com has a legal obligation to publish every month the number of subscribers and the overall income and outlay totals for all subscribers to read. I think you folks had better get your house in order. This has been going on for far too long. You NEVER publish any financial records and nobody can check their income against your records.
We need to change this. I want to see exactly how much money you pay out each month to your writers compared with the number of people actively reading. As subscribers with an interest (and drawing an income from these numbers) we have a legal right to know.

Better Yet
Look at this (now you don't even have to click on a link):
Now please tell me how Candid Yammer in America can rank at number 83 OVERALL and only have 11 page views? What's more, how can Candid Yammer On the Political Circus currently rank number 2 in the News and Politics section yet it was last posted on 20 October 2004 and only have one page view? How does a blog get to the current postition of number 2 in a category with only ONE page view? C'mon, I'm not a dunce.
I think I'll send this to my attorney.

Well I tell you what
That's a really great canned response. Why not actually click on the link I conveniently listed for you and check out the dates of my last post as being in October of 2004. Next, check out how at least one of my blogs is in the top 100 blogs on all of Blogit and it has what? 13 page views? Are you telling me that only 25 people actually subscribe to Blogit?
C'mon, folks...something seriously stinks in Denmark and it aint the cheese. Please do some work and find out WHY that page doesn't update at all. I have no freekin' control over the matter but YOUR side does. Should I contact an attorney or something?

As we state on the Blogit News post that announced this new feature to track readership, this page views counter is the cumulative number of page views on each of your blogs since this feature was introduced.
The page views counter tracks your page views in real time so we're not sure we understand your complaint that it "hasn't been updated in quite some time". It automatically gets updated as soon as you have a new page view from a reader other than yourself. Neither you nor anyone else needs to ask us to update it since it happens automatically.
Furthermore, as made clear on the News post that we link to above, the page view numbers do not reset every morning or every week or even every year. It currently shows you the cumulative/total number of page views since the feature's introduction. Therefore, if/when any of your blogs are read, you will be able to see in real-time the increase in page views by refreshing your Write page.
Thank you.
