I am not trying to convert you or anyone else. I am presenting other possibilities. I am speaking about my views and other possible views, some of which I myself do not agree with. I am not trying to get people to change their ways, just to think about the possibilities. That is what opening your mind is about. it has nothing to do with seeing things my way or changing your beliefs one bit. It has everything to do with understanding the significance of other ways of thinking and accepting them as being legitimate and of having value. You need not agree with those views to do that.
Yes, I challenge your beliefs, but not to try and convert btu to better understand them. I point out all flaws I see in religious ideas in order to get a better idea of just what those ideas are based on and why people believe as they do.
I also enjoy debating and am looking for people who wishing to seriously debate the ideas I express.

"They make the claims that they faith is great and pure, yet they seem to insult the whole idea of faith by making other's faith out to be weak and easy to change." Isn't this your statement? If so, why do you do it to me?

I thought it meant you were finally starting to see reason and notice just how foolish you have been with your beliefs and open your mind and listen to the facts for once. For a moment, then I read your other comment you left for me today and that helped to make it very clear that this was just a once in a lifetime thing where you saw clearly, and then quickly returned to you ways.

LOL...still more proof that there is a God...I've been praying for you to write something that I agree with. Funny how he works through you even though you don't believe in him. hehehe

I think you caused my heart to stop for a moment there. I had to reread your comment to make sure I was not seeing things.

Ready for the sky to fall? "If you claim that God is all-powerful and all-knowing, then God is going to do what God is going to when God decides to do it and it will not ever be changed by man's actions." I agree with this statement.

Darkke - I thought about making the distinction, but didn't. Thanks for adding that. ;-)

Close, but not quite, roofpig, killing people is fine - as long as they are Christians and get to go to heaven - you'd be doing them a favor then, right?

So, by this logic I can run around and kill people, right? I mean, the end of the world is coming and all, so a few people here and there shouldn't make too much of a difference. Heck, I wouldn't be able to kill as many people as acres of land that are destroyed, so in the end, my actions would just be the cosmic equivalent of scratching my nose.

It reminds me of the idea that since we will all get "perfect" bodies when we should indulge in all the "good" food we can. I just can't help thinking what a joke it would be if we got resurrected and ended up with the SAME body we had when we die. Seems like there is some sense in taking care of things - just because...

kooka_lives -- there is no accounting for crazy
And there are crazy bastards out there that do think that the end of the world is somehow a glorious thing. I've seen it right here on Blogit with a few of our more fervent fundamentalists. One of them even went as far as to say that conservation of any sort is thinking that you are more powerful than God ?? Huh? All us sane people can do is keep anyone holding a bible away from the nukes and continuously re-iterate that all resources are finite.

Sister dear
I never said all Christians. I said "there is an active conservative, Christian mentality", but that does not mean all Christians think like that. I make sure I do not do any kind of generalization in my posts.

Not all Christians believe what you espouse they do. In fact, there is
a Bible verse that evades me at the moment that is a warning to people who destroy the earth...so, these people who are doing what you say they are, for whatever reason, are truly twisted. I'm with you on that, dear adopted brother.
