It is difficult to do. But, as you say, we have a good role model.

Right you are. Five minutes is nothing if you want something badly enough.

I would agree, but maybe would state it this way - we can't share what we don't realize. I think we all have God, we just aren't aware of it.

Sorry about the post. That was actually for Painter based on his comment. With regard to Ego, I was trying to say that if you are living in the past or future, Ego is driving you. Only Ego would be concerned with the past or the future. Our true self would not care because it only lives in the present moment.

Staying in The Now…is very difficult…

But God does it everyday…all day long.
We need to be as responsible as he is…he never leaves a task undone…
  And he thinks about everyone...

                    I guess that's right, sannhet

Although I don't really understand your meaning of the ego. We seem to manufacture a different 'I' for every thought we have, but they all live in the memory of the immediate or distant past. The present is more than important, it is ALL there is. Everything else is memory, and even memory 'in the present' is still living in the past. There are no words or thoughts in the present, only being and doing.

The present moment is the only moment in this reality that really matters. Worrying about what you've done is a waste of time. You can't change it. Worrying about what could happen is fruitless, since we have no control over it. If you're not living in the moment, you are directed by Ego. Living in the moment is Egoless

                    I've been illuminated

now I'm harping on a new thought.
that the most sacred thing is the present moment
in this, all religions, even the irreligious, areligious and non-religious can agree -- the present moment is the most sacred and the key to the divine
the divine as perceived by each individual
live each moment as if it might be your last.
