In CA in some areas there is a fine for not picking up the dog poop. People have plastic bags in pink blue or the clear free grocery ones tied to the leash like a flag... Poop flags!
Re the controlling Dad then hubby, I resemble that pattern and swear I would never choose to be with the same type again.

Symphony, my friend,
you are emotionally evolving. I can totally tell. You are so much more in control of your life and I'm proud of you! I know it's been hard, but I have noticed lately you getting stronger and stronger and taking less and less shit. Good for you. Oh, and yeah, clarifying "animals" would be more appropriate!

Hi sweetie, you sure covered a lot of ground this time. Control freak? The issue of whether you give your husband permission to go to some sleezy place it is okay and if he sneaks around it is not okay. That is not being controling. He is being sneaky and dishonest. But you could have a discussion rather than a major rant. Leaves you less tired.
Dogs vs. Horses: I don't think the horses are considered pets. Now if you have a police dog it may be allowed.
Either of these could be right or wrong, I just love to read your posts.

The horses give work for the city cleaners to do. Its a dependent web of city workers.

Very observant Symph
Of course you missed one point. Does it also mean that humans can use the post, and only dogs are being discriminated here. I always like finding these kinds of contridictions and going on and on about them.

I dare you to go and write them a ticket. Be warned though, I can't bail you out nor help you with a court appearance. I can get you in trouble though. I guess a horse would work in the big city for crowd control. I;m not afraid of horses. All you have to do is grab there head-twist- and they are on the ground. Hopefully the cop got his leg out before all that poundage hit the ground.

Awesome that the police ride horses on the streets.
Surely some travel in cars, right? Ever heard the phrase from Animal Farm, that all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others?

If you say okay, then he's not sneeking around behind your back. But if he goes without permission, not only is he sneeking around, but he doesn't have enough faith/trust in you to know you'd be okay with it. Catch-22 for sure!

I hear you, Syphony...
I don't know the case in England, but here in the states most states have leash and clean up laws for dog owners. I have no problem with this. In the case of horses, police are not required to clean up after them. Instead, the city sanitation board is responsible for it. NOT fair. I say, if you can't clean up after your pets, you shouldn't have them.
As for being a control freak, I really can't say whether you are or not. If you truly feel it may be beginning to over power you, maybe you should talk to someone...? Hope that didn't offend you. I know I can be a control freak myself at times...I don't like this about myself, but I know that largely it has to do with the fact that I had little control over happened to my body as a child. Also, I tend to care for people a bit too much. Still, I do my best to keep it under control. It's not always easy.
Did that help?
