You are so right, Taps. It is the family who suffers the most.
Her attitude could have been so different (I would imagine) if her parents had handled her better as a kid, but now they're the ones who must suffer (and her own offspring).

Thanks Voyager for your ongoing, wonderful support!!!
I generally handle myself with a significant amount of decorum. . . biting my tongue in the process.

JanesO - I feel so sorry for any family that she has.   I know that you can handle the irritation and that, as nurses, we are paid to take care of that sort of person but, the poor family members have no respite from that personality disorder.

It's hard to do well for everybody, I admire the way you're handling all of this, it show great character and a great love for the job!

Thanks for stopping by, Sacred Raven
I agree -- I pity the poor mother.  But I also pity the patient.  What a sad way to live. I honestly wish there was something I could do to help her see herself. . . . .  Perhaps the next time around the bend with her???

There are some people who seem to be able to flow through life with grace no matter what difficulty is presented in front of them. It can be amazing how someone can deal with illness or disability and lead a perfectly happy life. My own uncle has MS badly and I admire the way he continues to live as much as possible. I don't know if I would have the strength.

It seems that person wasn't able to manage that, directing her anger at others around her. I pity her mother from the description. Poor woman.

Namaste.
