Shrinking vocabulary
Some good stuff here, Saul Relative . . .
. . . but you do need to clean up the act. Referring to your fifth and sixth paragraphs: Your respect for words is evidenced neither in your spelling of "beleive" nor in your use of "less words" instead of "fewer words." We may agree that government's spokesmen speak and write in "obfuscatory" style, but we see no evidence here. Nor do you offer anything to support your belief that Orwell is a great writer.--WEN SMITH ("Ask the Wordsmith")
