Kay-Ren, you have a very good point.
Hopefully, that was the case here. We're just not sure. Like I told HolyGrail, we're just gonna play it by ear. Maybe we'll take Stonci with us and let her pick out a dog herself. If she doesn't seem interested, I'm done. I'm certainly not gonna push it. It sounds weird, but maybe she doesn't want anybody unless she can have her Brittany back. ??

HolyG, I'm not sure what to do about all this.
Male, female, who knows? We might give it another shot by taking Stonci with us to the shelter to pick out her own dog, but I think with all the barking and smells, it's stressful for her. I may just say the hell with it and not look for another dog. Maybe I was wrong and Stonci doesn't desire dog companionship. Then again, she hasn't been the same since Britt died.

We all have met people that we just don't like while all our friends love them. Shrug, sometimes it's just a chemical thing. Good luck, sis.

Spitfire
That's too bad, but it sounds like you're taking it well. Maybe a smaller male would be a good match. ?

I was very disappointed, LittlemsP.
So was M. I was actually kinda mad at Stonci and didn't want to talk to her for a few hours. Moya was awesome and we really wanted her. Oh well. We think that if another dog is meant to be ours, she'll come along in time.

Oh spitfire!
After reading your last post and seeing how excited you were about Moya, it must have been difficult when Stonci flat out rejected her! There could be a whole heap of reasons, but don;t dwell on them. Like you've decided, take Stonci with you to help pick a new addition to the family. Take care.

JJ, we're really not sure why she reacted that way.
Like I said, it was so out of character. She loves other dogs. The only thing I can think of is that she felt threatened or intimidated because Moya was taller than she. She's not used to other dogs being bigger than her except for Britt.

Spiff,
I didn't say anything to Stonci about the new dog.  Honest injun.  But maybe she knew something.  Throw that in your theory bag.       JJ  Mr. Xpert

I have NO doubt in my mind that she will find a great home
within the next day or two, Quirky. No doubt at all.

That's very sad. I feel bad for Moya, too...but I pray that she finds her right home with good people.

Whacky46, you're right.
We were just really looking forward to bringing her home, but Stonci was the obvious decision maker. Oh well.
