I don't get over here as often as I should, considering that I do enjoy your writing and your perspective on things. So when I do drop in, I generally read down to where I left off before. I'm enjoying your journalism and the photos you're posting!

What a fine looking band
I was in Germany in the early 70s and they paid more for a liter of gas than the people here in the States were paying for a gallon. This was during the great oil shortage. At least the Germans took some steps to try and diminish consumption. The did not allow anything but emergency vehicles and public transit to run on Sundays. Can you imagine trying to get the American people to accept something like that.
