Sym - heck yeah! I love cooking for people! So does Katie. We can't wait to have our own house so we can throw dinner parties. :-)

That sounds good!
We eat a lot of pasta, but like you, I do things very simple. I guess simple is easier when you have kids holding onto your legs as you cook! :)
I've been tired a lot lately, too. I just need to start taking better care of myself. Get more sleep, eat better, take care of my body...

The oil in the water thing really doesn't help all that much. Add it to the pasta after you've drained it.
One of my favorite pasta dishes is shells with alfredo sauce and crab meat. I cook up the shells, drain them, add olive oil, oregano, basil, and some salt and pepper. While the pasta is boiling, I'll fry the crab meat in olive oil and garlic, then add that to the pasta (along with everything else). I'll spoon on the sauce separately.
Katie loves when I make that. :-)

symphony,
I often cook plain spaghetti and add olive oil. Then I sautee pepperoni slices, mushrooms, and spinach in a pan with some olive oil. Then I add it....children don't seem to like it much though...lol.

Symph...
Sounds pretty good! I don't really make pasta so I can't advise you here. I started my life's story by the way and put it in the journal section. You'll have to keep an eye out for it for me. If I get too long winded I need the smackdown! I'm planning on putting it in book form at some point.
