Old man, I've seen you with your shirt off (It still haunts my dreams at times) and I can promise everyone here that that picture has been altered.

DarrkeThoughts, moondawg
I agree, there are some out there. They just are not in the spot light and their actions are very often over looked. it can be very hard to notice them in the midst of all those who should be hero, but end up showing their true colors in the end.

I have to agree with one
of the other comments. Maybe we are looking in the wrong places for our heros. Sports, Hollywood, and politicians are all about themselves anymore, they no longer care the persona that they project. Besides what do most of these people really contribute to society. We need to get our kids focused on the people that are out there really working to try and make this world a better place and to hell with the glitz and glamor groups.

if you want to fit in

you can't leave the herd

you can't then be a hero

besides, if you are medicated -- you don't care.

Max Fuller - very sucessful business man gave up his business to start Habitat for Humanity.

Some 12 year old kid in Canada saw how children are forced to work in 3rd world countries and started an organization to "Free the children"

Heros are there if you look...and parents/teachers can tell these stories to their kids.  Maybe even limit the TV/Video Game time so they have a chance to think about it?
