Temple - your writing is your magic. Its the first thing I look for here when I'm looking to read something. Please get a sample of Gidget to a publisher somewhere, somehow.

Temple, having been alone and self employed for decades, I can tell you

that the fear that you feel can be conquered, embraced, faced and dealt with. Some months, I just stand, looking up at the four hundred foot stone wall in front of me, cliff face climbing to heaven. Then I look back behind me and see its sister, the four hundred foot rock cliff falling seaward at my heels.

All you can do, when it's all this big, is laugh and cry and throw it at the extended hands of the gods, shouting, "Here, take it, I don't know what to do with it all!" And then you sit and have some tea and  a little honey like Winnie the Pooh, tiddly pum......it gets no better nor worse, only 'different'.

Remember, mi casa es su casa. I have almost finished my grouping of angels and shall take them to the Mission in just a few days!!! The whole group flies out into the diaspora wishing you well, and some shall send their earnings to you soon.

Temple
I do hope that things will begin to look up for you.  Whenever I make a plea to who or whatever may be "uptehre or out there" I always do so with you and my mother in mind.

That's my girl...
one of the hardest lessons is that it is ok to ask for, and accept help. Our society is far to judgemental and exclusionary, forcing us to measure our worth by our wallets. It takes bravery to disbelieve, to realize that it is not what we have that matters, but who we are...
