You're right, LEGrant,
I didn't think about people making their own bullets.

Oh well. Maybe it would have worked only in a perfect world!

It's an idea. But what about those people who make their own bullets? It's not that hard an operation, although not many people are into it these days, when the price is comparatively low.
Your conclusion, though, is not warranted - people having guns would not stop these felons; these people are not rational in the sense of coming to those conclusions themselves.
BTW, there's a case in NZ, where a farmer shot at a group trying to steal his farm bike. He's on trial for recklessly discharging a firearm (he hit one of the bad guys), with a fairly hefty sentence over his head - more than the thieves would have got!

I know, Voyager.
I considered all that stuff, too. I don't really think there is a true answer for this problem. It's never gonna go away forever! Oh well.

The idea about a registration number is not bad at all, except, if your bullets were to be stolen, then you could get convicted for let's say a possible murder, that the thief has executed and not youreself, tricky business there. $300 a bullet, that would make them almost as valuable as gold or diamonds, I guess there would be an increase of mugging and robberies then to steal bullets. Again, tricky business, it's hard to find a balance there! Sorry for this critique, but I do applaud that somebody at least thinks of improving things about it! See you soon!
