The average Texan has an IQ of 92. It's a stated fact, not my opinion. I hate to belabor the point, but facts and opinions are two different things. The average Texan doesn't realize this fact and would demand that I label, "facts," as, "opinions," and vice versa.
If you hang around Texas long enough, your average IQ score will drop at least 4 or 5 points. We're not challenged much at all here. It's a nice life in that sense. One doesn't really need the extra horsepower unless they are being chased down and hunted by other hominids.
What screws up the climate in Texas are all the suburbanoids who show up thinking that everyone THEY hang out with represent a legitimate cross section of an entire population. Not so. High IQ's are like people who don't shower...only people with a taste for your particular odor will bother to be in the same room at the same time with you.
Hang around us a little longer, Rooster...we'll hose off all that arrogance and you'll get to learn that humility and intellect are not incompatible qualities...provided that humility comes FIRST.

Geez, With an IQ of 140
...you'd think that sarasooter would have caught on that the writer clearly identified the "average Texan" or "Texans in general" several times in his piece. I guess a high IQ isn't all that it's cracked up to be!

I am a fellow Texas with an IQ of around 140. My wife has an IQ the same as
mine. We left Louisiana 3 1/2 years ago. We have doubled our income since coming to Texas. We get along fine with everyone here. My wife has a job with a company who's stock has split twice in the past 6 months. We own a nice house. All the other Texans I know are pretty much like us. I don't know what bunch of Texans you are referring to, but from my viewpoint it does not look bad.
