Saying you have a great life that you are enjoying is not ego. Saying you know that your beliefs are the only one's that are correct an all others are wrong is ego. Can you see the difference?

" I would be willing to bet anything my life is as good, if not better than yours." And you say I have an ego?

I would be willing to bet anything my life is as good, if not better than yours. I am as happy as a person can be. I enjoy my life as much as a person can enjoy their life. I have a great family. Every aspect of my life bears great fruit. I could only wish for you fruit to be anything close to as god as mine. So by saying what I say I am figuring that you see your life as being really good. If I am wrong and your life is not as good as mine, then I ma sorry for the assumption. I can promise you however, that the fruit of your life is not better than mine.
My beliefs have produced the best fruit possible. If yours have fallen short of this, then I am very much sorry for making the assumption.

Since you don't know me outside the computer screen, your statement has no ground.

I have yet to see that the fruit your beliefs bear is any greater than the fruit my beliefs bear.

"How do you know you are not the one following a lie?" by the fruit which the truth I believe in bears.

And never the twain shall meet.
We needn't all be busy trying to sell each other theories. People have been hurt by all sorts of isms. When we finally leave this planet we will probly bring it all along with us.
And at some point we will be met by aliens. We will look at other and say."we were sort of hoping you could tell us..."! Manboy

The reason for posting these question seems to have been lost on you. Did you read drasticmeasure's post? Did you read the various comments on both this and his post?
How do you know you are not the one following a lie?
No one told me there was not a God. That was something I figured out on my own. You were told there was a God and that it was the God of the Bible and that you should not doubt it all to be true.
Which one of those has the more potential to be a lie? Something one figures out on one's own or something one has been told?
Just by those answers you have made it very clear that you will never grasp the true ideas I am trying for with this blog.

To add to my answer to question #3: Please note that the question asked about the BELIEFS of the person, not the PERSON HIMSELF/HERSELF. There is a clear distinction here-Love the sinner, hate the sin.

1. Do you think you are automatically smarter than Atheists? Of course not.
2. Do you immediately take on a defensive or suspicious stance in conversation with them? Yes, as I believe Athiests accept a lie as truth. This does not mean "stupid," as the smartest people in the world accept lies as truth without knowing it.
3. Do you constantly feel the need to criticize, debate and argue with Atheists' beliefs rather than just accept them as a personal preference? Yes, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Do you let people you love believe lies told to them, then turn your head and accept it when they act upon those lies? Is this any way to love your neighbor?
As for the rest of your questions, let's not be silly. Every group of people in history from every walk of life is guilty of what you ask with your line of questioning. What's your point in asking, except to lead your subject into a trap? (did you know that leading questions are objectionable when examining witnesses in a court of law?)

There are too many people out there who only know what they have been told to believe by others. They do not go out and seek the facts for themselves. They accept ideas and views that a small group holds to be true when they are not. it is a very active problem in our society. People do not wish to go out and learn for themselves. They will not get to know people of different beliefs because they have already been told just what those people are like.
You have already checked out dm's post, so I think you understood the point I was trying to make here. The bigotry and such are not just form one group or another. It seems that such questions really can be asked about all groups and hold the same amount of truth to them. Your comment on dm's post was a perfect example and to some level it should have been mine as well (Except for that part about being Christian) for even though the answers I gave were honest to the level that is what I do normally, there have truly been times where for whatever reason I have allowed myself to show a level of bigotry and such towards groups such as the Christians as a whole. Of course that is all the more reason as to why such questions really should be looked at by everyone and then turn the questions around to see that such ideas fit form just about every group towards just about every other group out there.

To assume that anyone knows nothing more than what someone told them is a very interesting point. All the other questions are a test for bigotry on any level. Is there anything new under the sun? Can we ever know anything on our own?
