I know it.
As I finished
Angels & Demons and saw the hero described as tall, with a deep voice, and "he strode directly to her and wrapped her in his arms," (close enough), I got frustrated again. Oh, well. We'll always have the books, won't we? Thanks for reading.

Tom Hanks is going to have to get in shape to pull that off. He has a little of the quirky part.

Much better
to be writing than reading, I would say. More power to you. I have a friend who never reads while she is writing. We started seriously writing together years ago. She has published 10 novels; I have written two but published none. I read a lot. Guess that says something. Can't wait to see
Reincarnation.

Thanks for the skinny on ...
Angles and demons. Once I get "Reincarnation" (sequel to "Do As Thou Will")edited and published I will have to take a break to read...of course, that could be awhile

Let's hope so, Jeff.
'Cause I don't think they're going to consult me on re-casting.

Hi, Goddess
I have recently (past couple of years) come to enjoy Nicholas Cage, so, maybe. If you return to the fiction of others at some point, Dan Brown's books are very good (imho). You may enjoy the little tips on history of religion, the Roman Catholic church, and paganism, too, in
Angels and Demons. I was almost late for work this morning because I couldn't stop reading it.

I haven't read either book...
I never read fiction while I am working on a fictional piece. However, I am not a big Hanks fan. Nice guy, great humanitarian but his roles rarely move me. For good looking but geeky I would have gone with Nicholas Cage.

Hey, anything could happen.
I feel better about it today and will try to keep an open mind. Others seemed to think Viggo Mortenson would be a good choice. I think so, too, but we'll see. Thanks for reading!

Well, maybe Tom Hanks will surprise you and you'll think of him totally different after you see him in character? Or maybe the movie will be even more scarey with him in the lead??

So true, Inns.
It's hard if you see the movie first or if you read the book first. That's why the movie version of
Gone With the Wind was so great. It was supposed to follow the book more closely than most movies. And I think it was very well-cast.

That's the only problem I have with making movies...
out of books. I just seem to have an image of the characters stuck in my head and I can't get past how I think they should look versu who actually portrays them. I tried to watch
It by Stephen King and I could not get past the opening scenes because I could not get my head around the actors that they had cast.

I agree, he is a very good actor.
The Road to Purgatory proved that to me. However, I don't see him as Langdon at all. And if he does his yelling, tantrum act that is in so many movies, I'll won't be able to continue watching. Of course, I keep coming back to Pierce Brosnan or Keanu Reeves.

Hanks is a very good actor.
He does serious, heart wrenching parts and comedy with equal depth. I am sure he'll do fine. It's a case of people trying to tear down someone who comes across as a decent person and being very successful. At least that's my thought of the day.
