word.smith,
but when you are finally able to "let it go" and you KNOW that you have, it's like aaaaahhhhhhh. Better than a good massage or great sex.

renigade,
that would certainly make their lives better, for sure.

True, this forgiveness business does take a lot

of time, effort and trying to keep your mind from going over every last detail of the hurt that was inflicted.

Symphony,
Don't ever get sick of surviving...or lose hope...and always remember what the wise quirky one said about positive thinking!

Me, too...and no it isn't easy but the rewards make the effort worth it!

I'm working on feeling that "lightness of being" but it sure isn't easy to achieve!

Q this is an important post.
It is very true; however, none more than the lead sentence. That is excellent. The lightness that comes about is because you have laid down that load. The other person's ugliness stays on your back without their knowing or caring often times, until you have dumped it through forgiveness. Good stuff!

Word.Smith,
Or course, just because it's the best course of action doesn't mean it's the one we are always able to choose.

word.smith,
It can be a challenge, but no matter what *they* do, the best course of action is always to forgive them...not for them, but for YOU!

It does give some food for thought.
It does become a feat when you live around a repeat offender.

Gypsy,
That's an interesting motivator. I wouldn't recommend it, though. Too many downsides. ;-)

Quirky ...
I agree that being bitter and obsessed with your anger is not a good thing! I always try to let mine go. Except in cases where I use it as a motivation to better myself!
