I've been through that before and I sympathesize with you completely. Put your feet up, have a cup of tea and put on a song that was made before WW2 and relax and blog to your heart's content.

Sounds like a sound
strategy to me for next time. On the difference between ripe men and little boys, I've heard the main difference to be the price of their toys.

Patience of a saint
You have the patience of a saint Symph, I'd have put tape on the little darlings mouths and tied them to their chairs
.
I think you should tell your cousin that everyone was SO well behaved, it was such a treat, that you got extra cash because everyone was so nice....and you'll do this again any day of the week. That guarantees she'll take the next gig.
Payback is fair ????

I saw my guy friends, party DJs, who gave away photos. They were careful to avoid giving free CD reproductions as these are controlled by copyright.

wow, .....Ben if we did not have games it would have been worse....
the point is to sing and dance, so they're not meant to sit for 3 hours... but stay off the stage and leave things alone...not too much to ask.....especially as I am doing the entertainment...I am not a babysitter

Was this a 'disco' party for kids? I didn't know much about this phenomenon until I attended one a few years ago in England...it was a birthday party for Steve's neice who was 8 or 9 at the time. Complete with a DJ, flashing lights, tables of snacks and a zillion little kids, it was quite a spectacle. While the kids had a blast..and the adults were asked to join in as well...I was glad when the night came to a close. Too much noise for me!

SYMPH......
Your post reminds me of the time a girlfriend and I went out to dinner for Hibatchi~~~they like to fill the table, so they left us sitting there waiting, and we had had a less than memorable afternoon full of incompetence by everyone we seemed to meet.
The bartender would not serve us, because we were "assigned to a table" and our server would not serve us because our table was not ready.
Finally they brought a woman and 3 small children to the grille, and I went over to the host/hostess, and said, "Excuse me, but I know you do not expect for us to dine at a table with children?" in my best Linda Blair impersonation (from the Exorcist!) LOL.
That was the Day from Hell, all around when I thinkg back on it!
