jj Wilde,
I have a new one! How about taking a spoil kid's new bike, breaking it, and watch him go home crying? That is Mr. Bush and his "democracy" for all!

JJwilde, vis-a-vis your Pulque post, since I could find no comment section,
I would like to say, I think it was a butterfly.  Thanks for the visit.  Now I have to go to work on planet earth!  lol.

Arguing with Glennb is like playing barkback with a junkyard dog.  Don't trouble yourself.

GlennB, A year ago I would have said no.  But now I think the strategic vision of a democratic, or more stabe, Middle East depends on some kind of change there.  Saddam was in the way and now he is not.  Many people think that W. was doing paybacks for daddy.  Not me.

Kingmi,
Are you suggesting Bush will invade Syria next? Scary!

posted by Glennb on February 21, 2005 at 2:17 AM | link to this | reply

Glenn, If Syria allows its country to be used for that in a time of war,
they might lose their country.

Glenn, Syrians didn't like the deal?

posted by kingmi on February 20, 2005 at 8:03 AM | link to this | reply

Kingmi,
You are trying to have it both ways! If Mr. al-Hiriri was involved in "striking a deal", why would the Syrians want to murder him? By the way Syria has open borders with Iraq and Iraqis are fighting to take their country back from foreign occupiers. It is the duty of every sovereign nation to offer refuge for people fleeing imperialism!

Also, the Syrians are allowing Baathe party people to mount attacks from th
there.  What is that?

posted by kingmi on February 19, 2005 at 9:35 PM | link to this | reply

Glenn, is he elected then? Father to son royals. What is that if not a di

ctator?  The former PM that was killed was involved in striking a deal with the Syrians to withdraw.  Their answer was death.  That much is obvious.

Kingmi,
You are either uninformed or wrong on all three counts! People have grown so accustomed to spewing blind allegations and charges that they treat conjecture as fact. We should be more careful!

GlennB,Syria is a dictatorship, supports terrorism, and is unwanted in
Lebanon.

kingmi,

Why this tirade against Syria? Does anyone know the history of Syria's involvement in Lebanon? I can state with certainty: Syria had nothing to gain from and nothing to do with the killing of Mr. al-Hiriri!

Ciel, I agree. Syria has nothing to lose as they are not relying on trade
rather plunder of Leb..

If only... If only Syria didn't belive it is in the right every bit as
much as we believe we are!  Absolutes are so hard to come by, and especially to convince others of when their own imperatives, cultural values and goals seem so right and absolute to them.

it could learn to contribute if it actually learned how to contribute and not kill and take what doesnt belong to it.l.. its a big country and it could have grown so much had it not focused all its attention of sucking money from a tiny helpless country such as lebanon..

Tanoo, Thank you. Too bad Syria has nothing to contribute to the world.

posted by kingmi on February 18, 2005 at 3:45 AM | link to this | reply

Theres a big chance that Syria is involved in the car bombing with collaboration with the Lebanese government because Harriri's group was Ani-Syrian and the presidents group in Lebanon is pro-syrian....     OR Syria was set up and everyone will point the blame at them and demand they leave....

Whatever it is Syria should leave... they never contributed anything to Lebanon

Ciel, I'm afraid you may be right.

It would be irresponsible of me to form an opinion...
without more information, regarding the first part of your question.  As to the second part, I'll make a guess that they won't pull out until things are even closer to the edge of disaster.
