I do agree and the perception is valid. But that is not the issue, people being governed by fear tend to seek protection. There was simply no credible opposition in the last election. Let us hope Dr. Dean does not get his legs chopped from within again! As a Dean supporter I am hopeful. I hate showing my political leanings! But why not?

The great US of A is a hugely divided nation, especially so these days. My perspective, experiences are coming from the middle country, solidly pro Bush and very religious. And very morally superior attitudes prevail here on the subjects of gay marriage, abortion, the death penalty, final days. It's all about extremism - stripping rights, an eye for an eye mentality and feeling free to destroy the earth because the rapture is acomin' soon anyway...I think we all are in grave danger from these zealots, because they now have an ally in the White House. This was why he "won" the election supposedly. Yes, an ally...Or so it seems...

I am less endangered by the "moralistic, Christian righters" than most. I think? But the rule of law governs man. It requires moral courage to apply it justly, without confusing it with superiority.

Anti-Christ Rising...

Raw truth telling, but the "moralistic, Christian righters" won't be swayed from their agendas. This is the truth I'm seeing and hearing by many Bush supporters. No matter how much death and destruction he wroughts, as long as he is feeding their twisted appetites, he is The Man!
