Gheeghee -

Finished his address last night. Wow! Very powerful! And you are right. To discuss religion and spirituality without having read him is a big mistake.

That address got Emerson banned for over 30 years from Harvard Divinity School, his alma mater, for challenging their idealism of an externalized faith, with a radical new idealism of the "God" within, or the development of an internalized faith.  In the realm of human thought, Emerson is certainly a giant.  His work delves into the makeup and purpose of the human from such a unique standpoint that, in my opinion, to not give him a read would be a mistake.

Thanks. Though I have read Emerson, I had not read this address. I will read it tonight.

Changing that nasty diaper. Boy, is that love or what?

Love keeps no record when it is wronged...
Sounds like changing diapers with a smile (but not breathing through your nose).

I agree with you. I have opposed the war from the start and did not vote for Bush either time. Unfortunately, there are Christians who are still learning when it comes God. Much like there are Muslims and Jews and many others who are still learning as well.

If God is love, and if America is a Christian, God-fearing nation, then we must ask ourselves why America has been killing tens of thousands of citizens in Iraq.
