I came across this right after my last comment:

Tea for general treatment of stones and gravel in the kidneys:

1 part Corn silk

1 part Gravel root

1 part Hydrangea

1 part Stone Root

Using 1 teaspoon of the above herb mixture per cup of water, add the ingredents to a pan of boiling water.  Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.  Let steep until room temp.  Strain the tea and drink 6 oz. three times daily.  Store excess tea in the refrigerator.

You can drink one cup daily to prevent further stone/gravel formation once the current stones have been disolved.

I meant to add that these remedies would probably work for kidney stones

as well as gallstones.  You probably wondered why I blathered on about gallbladder issues when you were talking about kidney stones.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better today.

ARGUS,
Thanks for that advice. I will surely ask about doing that. I can generally pass the stones, but some are just too big. I hope this one passes before too long.

Sarooster, I know the pain you're going thru;
I've had them twice in my 73 years to-date, but not for the last 10, for which I'm very thankful. The last time, the doctor gave me some pills to widen the tubes so that the stone could pass with less pain. It worked pretty well for me. Good luck, pal.

I had a laser procedure done on me. They still use ultrasound though.
I think it is just up to the doctor. I am feeling fine now, but that can change at any minute.

I've never had the
privilge and don't ever care to. I've know people who have had them and the pain they went thru. I thought though they has a utrasonic procedure for breaking up the stones if you couldn't pass them.

Thanks koriani!
I will try anything over more surgery!

Hey, I have a couple of remedies for you that might help...

They worked wonders for me!

First, to combat an gallbladder attack, drink 1 tablespoon of apple cider in a glass of apple juice.  This should relieve the pain quickly.

For gallstones, take 3 tablespoons of olive oil with the juice of a lemon before bed and upon awakening.  Stones are often passed in the stool with this technique.  And it doesn't taste near as bad as it sounds!  I actually liked the flavor.

I ended up having my gallbladder removed because my stones were about 1/4 inch in diameter...there was no way I was going to pass those babies!!

Hope you feel better....
