Sarooster, you're pretty right on!
The rate of morbidity and mortaility is inversely proportional to the number of RNs staffed.  The more RNs staffed, the less morbidity and mortality.  I'm thankful to work at a hospital with awesome staffing ratios.  Even the docs fess up and admit that the big name hospitals where they've worked cannot compare to our little hospital -- in terms of care and statistics. Thanks for stopping by!!!!!

Nurses are awesome. They are on the front-line of care giving at all times.
When in a hospital a person's recovery is directly proportional the level of care they get from the nurses.

Thanks, Moondawg!
some days, as I mentioned, it is challenging.  But then there are times that are pure gold and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Ihave such a high respect for
all you nurses. It's got to be tough to try and maintain that pleasant attitude with everything that is going on. My few times in the hospital have always been much more pleasant because of a nurses smile, kind words, and taking time out of a busy schedule to just chat a little.

Ah Taps, I'm so sorry for this hard time in your life.
What would we do without fuzzy blankets, eh?  My prayers are with you.

Not so well, JanesO.   It's why I don't spend much time blogging.   I think that I am a wee bit depressed in spite of myself.   Its easier to just pull a fuzzy blanket over my head and go to sleep.

You are so very right, Taps!
Speaking of patient care, how are your patients doing?

Good job, JanesO.   Patients really do respond well when approached in the right way for them.    And, as you know, all patients are not the same so you have to be creative in your care.

Mandalee,

I'm very sorry to hear that you have been a frequent patient . . . but hope the frequency of your visits to the hospital will diminish.  Thank you for your words of encouragement!

You're welcome, Celeste!

Being in the health care profession isn't always easy, eh? But it is often very rewarding.  Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for sharing this.  It reminds me of how I feel somedays heading for my healthcare job. Getting out of myself and really 'being there' for others does help.  Again thanks for sharing this uplifting experience.

JanesO
Beautiful, thank you for sharing it. Nursing is so like motherhood. Little ones more often need to be heard than told. The Lord used you to a wonderful deed that day.
