What news media are you watching, painter, the Sunday funnies? You're getting paranoid on us. If what you say is true, then a lot of people on this blog would already be gone. Not to mention lots and lots of people for whom the world ended in Florida in November, 2000. They did the goodbye/disappear bit, all right; they're stuck back there in time, refusing to come out.

i know what freedoms are
i remember when the press could report on virtually anything
now -- they are virtually silent
Moore is the exception.
Personally, I am afraid to say much.
We are being watched.
Laws and acts are being passed where anyone at any time can be arrested and detained almost indefinitely
doesn't take special laws -- it happens all the time
personal experience -- friends and acquaintances
but the new laws make it harder if not impossible for people to exercise their freedoms
doesn't take much to see that
if you suspected of being a type that fits their mold -- good bye -- you disappear.

Let's Hear It Painter!
Please enlighten all of us about what freedoms have been eroded. Please go to your "how to" Michael Moore manual and look up some ridiculous lie about how our freedoms have been eroded. You do not know how it is not to have freedoms. NONE of us know how it is to live without freedoms. So go ahead with your silly little philosophical liberal rambling about how we are not free. If this is a concern then why don't I hear of the mass exodus, that was promised by liberals if Bush won again, to Canada or some other country?

Don't faint, painter, but I agree with you . . .
. . . in calling for a salute to our veterans. Absolutely, yes. But how about some evidence that the rights they fight to defend are being eroded? In a comment to another of your posts, one of your readers alluded to these being scary times. Indeed, they are, when one is reduced from reasoned arguments and hard facts to emotional hyperbole and the language of paranoia and panic attacks as the only means of expressing disagreement.
