It's so wonderful to accept both the wisdom and wonder of children. It sounds like you two have an important connection, like you connection is in the stars. I'll pray for you and your family

children have the power ....I believe
because they are open to imagination and thats what you need.....my daughter still doesnt know about her uncle dying..I cant bring myself to tell her....sometimes she asks about him but I brush it off....but one time she told me she cant go to the toilet because shayne (my brother) is in there....I was pretty freaked...so yes I defiently believe they can see...and the animals...

MiaElla, I've had this experience with my dad (I guess that makes me a
child...lol). I was at an easter gathering, and I looked up at the sky and I 'saw' my father, not as I had known him, but as a presence that was communicating with me... After that, I think the mourning period was over for me...now I see him peeking out of some of my gestures and facial expressions...and I know that I've never lost him... go figure...

and I think that is why they see what we don't , because their trusting
little hearts and minds don't know that they aren't supposed to see things like that. They are open, where we as adults are closed in our thinking. I believe she saw her daddy too. She wouldn't have whipped up a tale like that all of a sudden, I mean she could, but I highly doubt it. She just found out, and I think he wanted her to know that it was just his body that wasn't going to be there, but he would always be in spirit.

My brother also would have wanted to say goodbye...for some strange reason I believe her.
I've heard it's because adults question and fear the unknown...but children understand it for what it is...another facet of life.

My mother and my daughter were very close. She was 3 when she died. And I
am not a flakey person, and I don't believe everything I hear about ghosts and spirits, but I believe what Jessica told me. The day my mom died, I told her very little. I was just in shock, and I don't know why because we knew she was dying. We finally went to bed that night, I tucked her in, and said our prayers. The next morning, she crawled in bed with me, and asked where ganmaw was. she was only 3, so maybe she didn't completley understand death. (which she did, they understand it in a different way than we do, we only think we have to complicate it for them) I asked her if she remembered that ganmaw went to heaven, and she said yeah. "But why was she in my room last night? She was in my corner, smiling at me". she said she woke up, which she does alot at night to come back to my bed, but stayed in her room because her ganmaw was there. SHe is 6 now, and everytime I ask the story, every detail is exactly the same. And I know every mom says this, but my little girl doesn't lie. of course she tells little white lies at times, but then she is racked with guilt, lol..and tells me the truth. even if she knows she is going to get in trouble. She also tells me, every time exactly the same, that every once in a while she would see ganmaw with angel wings. I try to trick her up, and ask her where she was sitting , or what she was wearing. always the same. SO maybe that child did see her dad, I think she did. I think he had to know she was ok....

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that as we grow older, we tend to put our faith in logic more than imagination. Children have amazing gift of experiencing the world without being jaded by what adults "know" is impossible.

I recently wrote a little something about this subject. My belief=the reason babies can't talk when they're born is that they would be able to tell you where they were before their mothers womb. Also, they'd be able to share universal mysteries with us.

Is that why I tend to have more common sense and wisdom than most people my age? Because of my mental age? ;-)
