Cash crunch, all those years ago.
I like knowing it's not just me, today.   I had always heard that Dickens was verbose because he was paid by the word, but I hadn't known that he was innovative regarding the serialization.

Thanks for reading.
I'll always love Tale of Two Cities, although I haven't read it in years.  Might be nice to pick up a Dickens now.  I love the part about him buying paper for the next installment.

I have great respect for Dickens....

We used his books for English Lit. in high school and I still have a couple of his books.
