That is very frustrating...
Maybe they'll get it this time around that they just can't keep putting the operation off...

Symphony,
My sympathies, love. It's tough waiting when a loved one is in pain. I think Loanlady's got it right: keep bugging the doctors. It's easy for them to ignore an old woman in a hospital, not so easy to ignore the relatives who advocate for them.

they can break up gallstones with ultrasound, with lazors and with drugs pretty sucessful. Look on line for doctors in your area who specialize. Start firing off some emails and see if they will look at her chart. Call the doctor at the hospital frequently - the sqeaky sweet wheel gets the grease. I would suggest persistant kind bugging that they help Mom. It's so frustrating because they should have helped her the first time!!!

If they can find a bed for her when
she has an emergency, surely they can make the time to sort out her problem. I hope it doesn't get to be life threatening. She must be sick and tired of being in and out.

Do you have socialized medicine? I find that when competition ceases, people lolly gag along. The desire to exceed and be on the top ceases and there is no reason to excel past the slowest member. If there isn't anything special in it for them, they don't care past what is required. So I guess there is some importance to the Mercedez that doctors drive. In a round about way, by curing people, he was rewarded with a grand car.

Hospitals are for operations, in general. Doctors who work there are cut
specialists.
