Nixon and Cottage Cheese
Nixon never had anything but cottage cheese and a little fruit for dinner except when there was a state dinner or dignitaries were visiting. He only ate corn flakes for breakfast. He was a quaker and they tend to live very simply from what I understand....Onto carbs and fats... I can't do these diets. I just eat what I enjoy in moderation and hope for the best. That was what Dame Julia did and she lived to be 93 eating fattening french cooking

I don't really like to cook
but have to if I want to eat. I confess to loving macroni and cheese, but seldom make it anymore because of the carbs, fat, etc. Usually, it's chicken stir fried or in my Turbo Cooker with onions, mushrooms, any other veggies in the fridge, with a half or whole can (depending on how much food there is) of Beefy Mushroom soup. Sometimes add a little or serve over rice. I know the soup is salty, etc., but I just love it.
What was that about Nixon and cottage cheese? I never heard the story.

I grew up in a cooking household...
I learned to cook by the time I was eight and mom let us experiment in the kitchen the way other kids play with playdough. Given my druthers I will take comfort foods and stuff sinfully rich or blessedly fresh any day of the week.
