I couldn't agree with you more!
As a matter of fact, I was just thinking the same thing a couple days ago. Wish I would have seen the show.

I hear you loud and clear..but more about this TV show
1. They called 1,000 kids from around the country and came out with sweeping findings with an error margin no lower than 3.9 percent and sometimes as high as 5 percent. Pretty chintzy and unrepresentative "science". Discount it.
2. Most of the kids at the Florida location were reporting hearsay and rumor. I think some may have been downplaying their own activity. And so many staged and taped scenes...it's a TV show designed to attract viewers through fear (parents) and sex (kids). Perfect.
3. At least here in California's Central Valley, the WB network ran a near doppleganger show at the same time...when the WB is one of the biggest purveyors of prime time soap operas dripping with sex etc.
But I think your points are salient. Media are forced through competition to raise the sex bar, and we need to counter it by example and through standards.
