Must feel great to play again ...

Except for the sore muscles... About POP ~ my father used to use cola to clean the greasy, road build up of his windshield if he was in a jam ...works like a charm if you have a smudgy windshield and no washer fluid ...

Glad to be of assist, my dear Tapsel
Sometimes it takes someone else to point out the somewhat obvious, eh?  But not to fear, it happens to me all the time.

JanesO - Thanks for the concertina site.   I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Taps,
Fraid I can't help you, although I did a google search and discovered www.concertina.net with what looks like all sort of excellent resources that perhaps you've discovered already?  After looking at a few concertina photos, though, I'm not sure the pop method would be such a good idea.    I hope your aches and pains have resolved???

How interesting, JanesO.   I loved it.   Now I want to know how to  clean an old concertina because that is all I know how to play and the little buttons are sticking badly.   Help.

I tried playing the French Horn once and nearly blew my brains through my ears....

Hi Justso --
glad to see you up and about for awhile, and thanks for visiting.  I've run into a lot of people who played the French horn while in HS.  For many people it goes something like this "it was the only instrument left. . . nobody else wanted to play it."  I fell in love with the sound when I was 15 and my parents took me to a chamber ensemble concert.  I heard the horn and knew I wanted to play it.  I went up to the horn player after the concert, introduced myself to her, asked if she knew a good horn teacher and the rest, as they say, is history!

Jane

That was a fun read. It was also informative but I don't need the information. Just enjoyed getting back for a little while. I have been in bed too long. But I have my schedule all fouled up now. I played a French horn in concert season when I was in high school 50 or more years ago. I was a majorette and we had to play an instrument in concert season. I would hardly call what we did playing, but it was fun remembering. My husband is a musician and I can't carry a tune. He plays guitar, (acoustic & classical), mandolin and violin. He plays in our church praise band for the contemporary service. They are really good. Thank you for your concern. Be blessed

Hi OI,
thanks for visiting.  Not being a pop drinker, I had no clue what the usual price was, but figured this had to be a good price.  Yeah, well, I'm sure there were a few germs growing throughout my horn so perhaps the pop killed them off.  Pop kills weeds?  Wonder what it does to the inside of one's guts?!

I had never heard of using soda as a cleaner....
but I have heard that it kills weeds! and 47 cents is a steal...the cheapest we get here is 80 cents...
