Your daughter was clearly
uncomfortable in that environment. She had been eager to go, she must've liked her friend. Why don't
you have your daughter invite the other little girl to your house and see how it goes?

Poor Symphony,
This is the first of many scenarios!!!! Have fun!

LOL
You've got to love kids for being brutally honest! Don't worry, if you see the other mum, just have a laugh with her about it. If you try to avoid her then she really will think something is wrong!

Nowadays when I say things to my boys, I usually say - now that is not something you have to mention to anyone else! Lol!

I think that's brilliant!
Diplomacy is so over rated.

LOL.....I agree Moondawg ...so what's the trick?

posted by _Symphony_ on January 13, 2005 at 2:31 PM | link to this | reply

From the mouths of the children
We try to teach them to be honest and speak what's on their mind and then we pay the price. The trick is getting them to do this at the appropriate moments.

...
so... reminds me of a story my Mother has told about me as a youngster for low these forty odd years.

Evidently one of her best friends was an overweight lady who used to come over for lunch once in a while. My Mother, knowing I had a tendency to open my mouth when I shouldn't explained to me carefully, when I questioned her about why her friend was so heavy, that she couldn't help it. I was three or four at the time.

So, supposedly, I was sitting there eating a sandwhich staring at this poor woman, which she noticed. Finally she said, "Is something wrong, hun?"

"Well," I said, "My mom says you can't help bein' so fat, but I think it's cuz you eat too much."

End of friendship.

Oops.

....And, supposedly I used to sit and squint/stare at her Japaneese friend. Luckily, they're still very close in spite of me.

LOL...roofpig ..sometimes she is too honest for her own good

posted by _Symphony_ on January 13, 2005 at 12:07 PM | link to this | reply

She's young and takes things a little to literally.
At least you know she's paying attention.  That's a good thing.  Perhaps an invite on your part to the other little girl might help smooth things over?
