Hello Symphony,
I just read your blog about your Nan...I lost my Great-Grandmother to complications of Alzheimer's Disease, so I know what you've been through. I know it's hard to think of her now, but try to remember how much she loved you...She loves you still. Peace and God bless.

It's grieving that makes us human Symph.
It helps us to apprieciate life. I miss my Grandma, the woman she was, the fun we had. I wish Ihad told her more often how much I loved her. But I keep the memories and stories and tell them to my kids so she won't be forgotten.

I lost not only my grandparents but both my parents at a young age, Symph.
We all cling to these memories, as they actually comfort us.

Death of a loved one is hard; I lost my grandmother several months ago and still grieve, though she was 89 and had a happy, full life. Yes, memories are a beautiful way to honor our lost ones and always hold them close. Take care dear Symphony.
p.s. Thanks for sharing the e mail. Wise words indeed.

It's tough loosing the ones we love
but think how much sadder this world would have been if they were never there. Think of the memories as treasures worth more than gold - to be tenderly cared for and then handed down for generations yet to come.

Ah, Symph!
Hope you get through that okay. My grandma died less than a year ago and I'm still amazed at how much it messed me up. Most of my life I got through without seeing many people I knew dying, so I didn't understand how it would affect me when it actually happened.
My Nan didn't even know when I was there in the hospital much near the end, so I stopped travelling to bigtown to go see her. I wonder if I feel guilty about that. Likely, but relieved, mostly.
