Sounds like your
one of those teachers who goes the extra mile. The idea of treating your students like college kids, was great. It place the responsibility of meeting that expectation on them and it sounds like they were making every effort to meet your challenge.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. The best teachers are those who learn to overcome obstacles in new (or freshly recycled
) ways. Good job.

Taps, thanks. That's the way I feel about hs. I don't want that to happen
to my students, or my own kids. They might wind up wasting their lives, but it won't be while I've still got strngth left in my foot. (watching ISU play Kansas now!)

kingmi - I wish you would have been my teach when I was in the 8th grade. It was my biggest "goof-off" year. I always felt like I pretty much wasted it.
