Starr4, Good writing, dear, keep it up!
I never hitched in my life buyt once I picked up a man and his wife in a little town in Kentucky and drove them clear into Tennessee. It was late at night, and the guy was determined to stay awake, even though his wife had fallen asleep. I wonder what would have happened to these people otherwise, because I was able to drop them very close their home town. I will always remember that guy nodding off, waking with a spasmodic jerk, apologizing, then nodding off again.
