Go to Life in the genetic homeland

I went to Italy for a month in 2002, and I would love to have to live there
for a while! I was glad enough to leave for more familiar climes... But I think mostly it was that I wanted to show everyone my photos!
Unhappy people will be unhappy anywhere.

funny you should say that...
I was speaking to a dear friend of mine just yesterday who said almost the same thing: she probably isn't happy with herself to begin with (Oh and she is getting on in the years. I doubt that has anything to do with it...but it does make for an easy scapegoat)

If you have the chance ...
Tell the unhappy American Lady in Italy that she might be blaming Italy for the same feelings she could have in America simply because of the transition into ... dare I say it? ... AGING. Auuugghhh!! NO! Not that!
But, yes. A lot of the good feelings of youth disappear, and we may be inclined to blame our circumstances, when in fact, nothing can change it except perhaps a really good hobby.

Thanks!
Thanks to all for your comments and for welcoming me aboard! It took me forever to decide to join; to put in the words of The Smiths "..shyness can stop you from doing all the things in life you' d like to...."
Currently I'm in NY, where I will stay for the next 10 days. Then it's back to blighty!
Here's to many days of great blogging together!

NewYorker, I enjoyed you topic. I traveled to Spain, France and England in
1973 after college. I met a few ex-pats, many of whom could only talk about how long they had been away from home, and how they were never going back. I only stayed away 3 months. I wish I'd have stayed forever, but I guess I've had a good life here. I can still go back when I retire.
