My house is pretty quiet. But I did wake everybody up one time. Got up in the middle of the night and thought I knew my way good enough-didn't need a light. I walked into the door frame. That was a loud thud and everybody going "what happened?"

I used to pretend they "broke" or the batteries "died", just to get some peace and quiet. I know kids love those kinds of toys, I just wish people would be nicer and remember the parents have to put up with it.

Parenting is never easy
I know I've got almost 36 years of battel scars. LOL For your own sanity - find a box to put the noisey toys in and keep it in your room, Under your bed if you can. Like Sincerity said he will probably cry for a few nights. But he will get the message. It will be rough going for a while but it will work and years later when he's a growen man - he'll thank you in many ways. Eather that or you will laugh you're head off at his parrenting attempts.
My oldest son - almost 36 - delights in turning my hair gray. His latest - sending me a photo of himself shooting a gun on New Years Eve.

I have a rountine all day...he goes to bed perfectly....for naps......
he even goes to bed of a night excellent...it is just when he wakes up in the early hours......nobody could imagine what its like unless they see it for themselves....so me saying I cant...is a true thing....I lay in bed listening to him for hours...I go in there put him in to bed and my voice gets louder and firmer......but I think he has behavioural problems or showing signs....
I have qualifications....for childcare...so I do know what your talking about.......as the doctor said to me...he will grow out of it
thank you ever so much for listening and commenting....take care

He is just a baby yet. You need stable routines...and consistancy. A baby cannot walk all over you unless you allow. Never say "I can't" because you can...if choose to...Don't be sorry...not at all...seek improvement :)

SincerityAnna.....I wish that was so easy
I agree with you…he is walking all over me and I cant stop him….he has never been a good sleeper….but he has got worse…it don’t matter what I try he just wont settle
He is only 15 months and I find he don’t listen to me or understand…he throws himself about and bangs his head on the wall on purpose through tantrums
I try and be very firm he has a stair gate at his door so I cant shut the door but even if I could he can open it….I let him cry for hours on end……I put up with so much....he is very hard work and disruptive
Im sorry I went on I could have made this another post…lol….but you and jamryn opened up the real problem and I could not shut up……I am going out of my mind….I would love to have a full night sleep but I haven’t since he was born….
thanks for listening

I must say that I agree with Jamryn...it does sound more like a discipline problem more than a toy problem...you should be able to tell him once and be done with it...if it doesn't work when you ask the first time nicely...take the toys away...give a few quiet toys in return...a kiss and a hug and "get back to sleep, please..." He'll scream for about ten minutes...go in and soothe him...give him back the quiet toys he threw on the floor....lol...he'll get the point and go back to sleep after a while..just don't give in!!!

People who buy those presents for other people's children aught to live with them for a long while. Try this - restrict the noisey toys and tv - etc. to a different room or area. Locked you keep the key. Tell your charming son that these are daytime toys. That night time he needs to sleep. A quiet toy or two can stay with him at night to keep him amused. Take control - you're the parent. - other wise he will get the idea that he can run all over you - for life.
