12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

David,
thanks for your comment along with your challenge.  I'm working on that and hope to do so in the near future.  What I have found, though, with several on blogit is that they are far less open minded than they like to think.  I have provided some very relevent and well conducted studies -- all of which were poo pooed.  Why?  Simply, I'm assuming, because they did not like the results.  I have been very disappointed by the lack of tolerance for anything that supports Christianity.  Again, thanks for stopping by!

I am not an atheist
But I can see their point sometimes. By the way, the burden of proof doesn't rest with the non-believers. It rests with the believers themselves. You said he hasn't proven anything. Well, have you for that matter?

Or mostly wrong, David.
It's all a matter of opinion, is it not?  He has yet to prove anything.

One reason why he isn't turning blue in the face

And why he keeps using the same old arguements: Maybe because he is mostly right about what he is saying.

Just thought I'd chime in!

Kooka,
You have proven nothing except to give -- multiple times over -- your own extremely biased opinions.  Please drop that "proven" word from your vocabulary.  It doesn't suit your need for scientific accuracy.  And you've mentioned the "lies, misinformation and propaganda" so many times it's now meaningless.  These same old arguments. . . aren't you turning blue in the face yet??

Janes
You are right, Christianity is spreading like a plaque over the world. We live in very scary times. One can only hope that some form of reason comes about those people and is able to stop the madness before is spreads too much father.

Any who, the whole point is not that Christianity is evil, but that Christianity shows no respect for other's beliefs when it demands all others show it respect. And my knowledge comes from studying history and looking at what missionary do in general. My friend who is a missionary is far from the bad sort. He, like you, does not see the true harm in what missionaries do. He is not a bad person, just blind to truth is all. He means no harm in his actions and thanks to misinformation he believes that what he is doing is not harmful. He is not what I have used to understand missionaries better, he views just helped to confirm that the there is a hugh lack of respect for the native beliefs.

The natives get caught up in what they are fed about Christianity and they spread the ideas that they have been told about it. They do not really know the truth from the lies and such.

Also, I have already many times proven that most of the Christians faith now days is based heavily on misinformation, propaganda and lies. Go a head and read my latest post and show me just where I have gotten this wrong.

I can only hope that someday you take off the blinders and see just what harm there is in destroying the faith and beliefs of others.

Amen Pastor B

sadly what you have to say is true.  Persecution and suppression of free speech is happening here.  We've gotta hang together!

Jane, that's an interesting publication isn't it?
But as we are both well aware, there are Christians in our own country being persecuted every day for their faith. And, it's going to get worse. We have to stand firm sister!

Thanks All
For your comments.  Yes, Brenda I do receive Voice of the Martyrs publication, and am always amazed at what people endure for Christ.  I sometimes ask myself if I would be willing to endure the same.

JanesOpinion - This is a very well written and  very informative post.   The things you say are true, your information correct.  Great job.

Jane, I can just bet I know who this basher is that is doing this!
Unfortunately, there are always a handful of misinformed such as him, that instead of really investigate the information, jump to a false conclusion based on a bad experience they themselves have had.
I can almost hear the echos from time when the first disciples were ridiculed for their own "missionary" acts. Truth be known, it's because of people like the one you refer to, that missionaries have had to double their efforts in the past century. Because you have the ignorant that insist on filling the "natives" heads with false doctrine, propaganda and lies. Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds in other countries. If you look at a publication called "Voice of the Martyr", you will see that the ones who are being the most persecuted are the ones who have come to know the truth of God BECAUSE of a missionary that taught them and they in turn become the missionaries to their fellow countrymen. It doesn't surprise me, that soon the United States will need missionaries to come here and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ because we have so many willing to listen to the Father of lies and becoming blind to the truth.

I am not a religious person particulary, but I would think
spreading the gospel is great no matter who you are! I am sure there have been missionaries who have done a bad job, but by and large these people are God-sends to the places they serve. I, like you, have read where the "natives" are really the ones who spread the gospel. It may take missionaries every now and then to get it started, but once it takes off the natives do the rest. Keep writing on this!
