They have the same tradition in the Army though I don't see why anyone would want that tradition to continue. It's a dangerouse practice because someone could get seriously hurt if their pinned on rank was pounded into the newly promoted collar bones. Safety should always come before tradition and I'm glad they put that tradition to rest.
