I got the chineese character meaning "to be different" tatooed on my...
right forearm almost 20 years ago, never wanted anyone to mistake me for normal...now I think I might have tried too hard to be odd...no one was going to mistake me for normal anyway...peace Quirky...

A Norseman
you're a man after my own heart. I not only eat lots of pizza, but I consider it healthy. For more see my post Healthy Junk Food (shameless plug)

If you really want to insult me
tell me that I'm normal. I hate that. To me "normal" is the same as "boring"

I don't even know what is considered
normal anymore. I know for sure that I'm not.

Quirkyalone
Normalcy is just another variant of an opinion. There is no general boundary that dictates what normalcy should entail. Just so long as it involves an itchy infection and a pint of vodka, you can assume it's at least fairly normal.

The problem with normal

Quirky...
I have always thought of the word "normal" as being the majority. For example; If the majority of people eat pizza with their hands, then that is normal. So someone who eats pizza with a fork would be abnormal. With this in mind...I have always made it my business to be on the abnormal side of things. It's just funner. (see, a normal person would have said "more fun".) There are certain normal traits I can do nothing about, like eating, sleeping, and bathing...these are normal human activities that I have no alternative for. In general, I think it's good to be abnormal. Oh, the pizza thing? Yes, I eat pizza with my hands, but I eat so much of it that I am still able to cross over into abnormalcy where pizza is concerned.

What is normal anyway, Quirk. If each of us measure it according to our
own standards, then none of us are. BTW, some of us were throwing your name around on my blog. Tell us what you think of the idea for encouraging new bloggers. We want to put you in charge.

As others have said
normal is borring - a go nowhere fast type of life. I'd rather shake things up a bit and keep people guessing.

Why would I want to be normal. ... But then if Michael Jackson is considered any where near the norm I want to be on the opposite spectrum of that mean. ( as in statistics)

I suppose...
One could say "normal is as normal does" but since I never quite figured out exactly what that meant, I won't. I would think normalcy is a very individual thing. I heat with a wood stove, that is normal. If you live in an apartment in New York City, heating with a wood stove would be very ab-normal. It's all point of view.
