We had a cat who would cross the street to socialize with strangers,
especially kids. She would disappear for a week or so,then show up again with a collar marking on her neck.Sort of like James Herriot's "Cat About Town" but with kidnapping attempts (or good-natured adoptions).

HolyDogLovers, we both seem to let the dogs decide our paths.....
The dog park is best on slow days and at slow hours, when Autumn freaks the least and Makeda doesn't have so many young dogs knocking her old self over. They would probably like a walk down our street even more, hmmmmmmmm.......thanks for reading and commenting.

I really enjoyed reading that!  I felt like I was there.  I haven't been to the park in so long.  Charlie is agoraphobic and doesn't like being anywhere but his house or his yard, so if I take him he just runs to the gate because he wants to go home. If he gets jumped on too much or humped he will bite, so obviously the dog park isn't the best option for him.  Montana loves it, but he is too old and arthritic for any interest in playing.  His favorite thing is visiting with people. Group after group of them. I call it the "people park."  I finally just started taking him to the patio of the Irish pub.  They're very dog friendly and Montana has tons of people to visit with.  Plus Mommy can have a beer!
