That's not the first time I have had that song quoted in my comments.
At some level the basic idea of the song fits me very well.

Perhaps John Lennon said it best:

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,

It's easy if you try,

No hell below us,

Above us only sky,

Imagine all the people

living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,

It isnt hard to do,

Nothing to kill or die for,

No religion too,

Imagine all the people

living life in peace...

Imagine no possessions,

I wonder if you can,

No need for greed or hunger,

A brotherhood of man,

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,

but Im not the only one,

I hope some day you'll join us,

And the world will live as one.

i sorta thought that
just wanted to get it straight
hard telling sometimes who and how
that is
is it sarcasm or is it real?
anyways
we got a choice
either keep going the way we are going and keep doing what we've been doing and keep on keeping on with all this crap
or
dispose of god altogether
which is not gonna happen
or
accept the other guy's religion
or non-religion
and let people have a chance to choose.
which religion
or
whether religion

And that is really the point of it all. Since no one would be willing to ever agree on the one true religion, it then makes more sense to just get everyone to accept the idea of no religion in order to get them all to be in a better position to get along.

west - that was my point.  I was being sort of tongue-in-cheek about it since it'll never happen.

what religion?

everybody thinks they have the right religion and that nobody else is right

that what causes a lot of our problems.

best way is to accept all religions.

find the common ground and you will find that that common ground is the true religion -- it encompasses all and excludes none.

people can be what they are and discover that their highest beliefs also are the highest beliefs of everybody around the world.

In order to achieve salvation one must believe fully in his or her God and act accordingly - yet in order to achieve peace, that notion needs to be thrown away.  Or everyone needs to be on the side of one religion.

What a tangled web we weave.

kooka, what then would we have to fight about?  This is a very good post about peace.  We fight for peace.  Sounds odd I know....
