probably does get old
but the obstetricians have to do it every day.
like you they get paid for it.

okay it is probably not the most attractive thing to watch.

but it is special for the woman.

maybe that's why your wife likes it -- special to women.

lots of things special to women that we don't understand.

Trust me old man, it really is not that impressive. Although it is different when it is yours and you are right there. But watching others have babies on TV is really going a little too far.

look kid!!!
I missed out on the births of both you and your sister -- that was at a time when the father was considered sort of useless in such situations and could get in the way -- get panicked and all that.

I missed out on yours because the classes were on a Saturday and I still observed Sabbath -- wish I'd seen you born.

That's the big deal -- seeing a new life come into the world.

I've seen pigs born and sheep and puppies and kittens born -- always quite an experience.

it's new life -- something that hadn't been there before.

a very sacred thing.

It is officially a temp job, nine to twelve months. If it really looks like it is just going to be a temp job I will be seriously looking into to finding something else next summer, before i have to go without a job. I am mostly just using this to get some experience. Due to some of what I am hearing about the changes that are suppose to be happening there next fall, it really does look like it is just temp.

It is a good job. I get bored, but I bring a note book with me and either write or design stuff to keep me from falling asleep, with is a big time job hazard. I guess they used to let employees get on-line, but had some problems and so that is no longer allowed. The only Internet I can do there is e-mails. I ma fairly sure they would notice if I was on lap top, even if I could afford one.

I'm glad they have the gym. It feels good to workout after being trapped in a room for eight hours straight.

sounds like a great job. maybe you could sneak a laptop computer into your
workspace and blog away to catch up on your ratings. Didn't you say the job was not permenant?

I sit and watch TV for eight hour straight. It is mostly a quality control thing. I just make sure that there are no on-air issues. Most of it is automatic now days. A master control operator used to have a whole lot more work to do and I guess for some of the other channels there is more to it, but with discovery health there really is little to the job, which is I guess why they start most people out in there. The main work is setting up the shows to air (We set up two shows ahead) and do quality adjustments on them and then double check to make sure that the playlist is correct, because that is what the computer goes off of to put in commercials and such. A real easy low stress job.
