Symph
I never really understood the words to the band aid song, kind of a monde green to me.......but there is one line in it that I find tacky, "tonight thank God it's them instead of you" I understand the meaning, I just don't like the way it's phrased.
Happy Holidays symphony!

It's only been in the last couple years I've had any Christmas spirit...
I guess once I was told about Santa things sort of changed for me. But, the last couple years I've really gotten into it...

Christmas Magic
enough to last the whole year around. Woulden't that be nice. The John Lennon song is one of my favorites. As for you're childrens gifts - dont wory the rapping won't last long enough for them to notice. I did like the advice you gave gyspy - Christmas magic all year long.

I am like a Xmas elf, Symph. I adore the holidays, any holiday!
Xmas, Easter, any and every one. One of my clients walked into the personal side of my building last week and exclaimed, "My God, it looks like a department store in here"! LOL I guess I overdid it again this year! Have a Merry!

No worries here, I've never been a victim. Merely a survivor. And I was on my own at 15 too.. kind of cool! Enjoy making your wishes come true!

gypsyredhead33 ..I know exactley what you mean
I wrote a post back not so long ago and about my family....my childhood memories were mum and dad fighting...and then all things went bad from there each christmas was something else to deal with whether is was a loss of our family members, once I had to go to court on the 19th december and watched my step dad go down for abusing me and such and such blah blah....I had my own place at 15 years old and was a broken child who rebelled and never even had a christmas from that day on....until I had my children..and now that they are getting older I want it to be magical....all what I went through...the magic was still there to believe in hope!
and now I want to retaliate and make all my childrens wishes come true and make it so magical that they don't have any memories like me and you have!
take care...im sorry you have had it rough too,.......don't be a victim anymore....
and gosh I know what you mean....there should be help all year round....but then they do say this is the time to be joyful and forgiven so we cant say nothing...lol

Symph..
Hate to admit this, but christmas has never been magical for me. As a kid it just meant my dad had more time home for me to avoid. As an adult, I have a little fun with it and always try to get into the "spirit" of things but mostly I'm just along for the ride. Personally all those band-aid songs are ok etc. But I'd like to see people care year around rather than just one time a year... you know what I mean? Anyhow... I do hope everyone has a great christmas and you enjoy the time with your babies. Give them a hug for me.

I love that John Lennon tune.
Have fun with getting into the spirit! I get to wrap gifts tonight because it's off to the in-laws tomorrow!
