Spitfire,
I think that assessment is 100% correct.

Quirky, when you said,
" I believe that in order to see a reflection without, one must first see it within. So the fact that I was able to feel his love at all, meant that I had finally found some love for myself." It makes me think that he is/was not "there" yet for himself.

Alf,
Thanks for all of that. You are a truly exceptional person. When you are ready to pen that experience, I will read it.

Quirky
Again, I could relate to so much of this.

Quirky...
This series is perhaps the most well written piece I have come across on blogit.  It doesn't hurt that the content was also riveting.  I am glad you used this experience for self discovery.  Many would have let it destroy them.  You have made me consider posting my account of love gone wrong and what I learned...I don't think I am ready to though.  Truly exceptional.

After reflection and introspection the mirror says: You are a person deserving of great love, you have the capacity to truely give the same. It does not matter that he was an inferior man of poor quality, sometimes our viewfinder gets clouded by love and hormones and chemicals and magic that is so more powerful than we understand when we are in it. Most of all you have to come out from the cave a woman dazzling in the light ready for another one true love. He will come, he may not be on the horizon today but you have to burn down the iron box around your heart with hot molten fire to be taken again and accept the world as offering something good. Many people never even have an experience meeting a soulmate, they are to afraid when the one stands near them. You have had a glimpse now ready yourself for a better man

void-is,
but it (and you) sound positive to me, so screw "the jury," I'll bet that it was done well.

very true, Quirky! I've often said...
that it was the time I fell apart and thus got the chance to put myself together again...my way... The jury is still out on how well I've done that... :-)

void-is,
Being in the cave can actually be a positive experience if you approach it right...and don't stay in too long, hehe.

I hear you...
spent a good couple of years in the cave myself...after a run in with some past life ghost...dark...dark times...
